Hours:
Along with your daily at-home care, visiting our office for regular dental cleanings and examinations is the most important thing you can do to preserve your teeth.
What To Expect At Your Visit:
In addition to improving your dental health, your teeth will have a new sparkle!
If your gums bleed when you brush your teeth or get your teeth cleaned, or if they have sore, swollen spots, you probably have an early stage of gum disease.
More advanced stages can cause bad breath, teeth loss, and receding gums.
Fortunately, gum disease is treatable.
We can help by cleaning your teeth under the gum line, which enables us to clear out infected tissue.
Smoothing any irregularities on the roots of your teeth further aids healing; plus, we can place long-lasting antibiotics to fight infection.
How To Prevent Gum Disease?
The best way to prevent gum disease is with twice-daily brushing and daily flossing.
Please ask us if you have any questions about the right at-home routine to prevent gum disease.
These days, most of our patients ask us for tooth-colored fillings because they like not having dark-colored metal fillings in their mouths.
Tooth-colored fillings are very durable and bond better to tooth material than metal fillings.
With metal fillings, a larger amount of tooth had to be drilled out along with the decayed area so the metal filling could be secured in the tooth.
The composite material for tooth-colored fillings is a combination of plastic and glass which seals tightly to tooth material, making a long-lasting bond and eliminating the need for this extra drilling.
Why Do I Need A Root Canal?
When decay has broken through to the root of a tooth, that root must be replaced with sterile materials to preserve the tooth.
What to Expect?
Once the area has been fully anesthetized, the root area of the tooth will be fully cleaned out, filled with clean material, and sealed up.
We recommend that this tooth be crowned to strengthen it so it can last the rest of your life.
When a tooth has suffered severe trauma or disease, it may not be able to be saved.
Extraction and replacement with a bridge or dental implant are better solutions.
When are extractions needed?
What To Expect:
With the practiced skill of Dr. Chubb and the good health of a patient, even complicated extractions can be recovered quickly.
For anxious or fearful patients, a visit to the dentist can be terrifying and traumatic.
To give them access to the dental care they need to keep their teeth healthy, we offer nitrous oxide sedation. This is a sedative that acts quickly and helps calm a person during treatment. They will remain conscious and able to speak throughout the visit and the effects will wear off quickly as soon as treatment is done.
If anxiety makes it difficult for you to get the care you need, please speak to us about your concerns.
A person with sleep apnea will wake up gasping for breath many times each night. This disturbed sleep makes a person tired and groggy during the day and can contribute to serious health problems.
Consult with us so we can fit you with a device to improve your nighttime breathing and help you have a better night’s sleep.
